Public Awareness of Interventional Radiology: Population-Based Analysis of the Current State and Pathways for Improvement

- Most patients referred to IR for a procedure who ultimately underwent the procedure with a surgeon stated a lack of IR awareness played a role in their decision
- Almost half of respondents wanted to learn more about IR, the majority believed short educational videos and information from their primary care provider would be most beneficial
- Over half of respondents believed the name “Interventional Radiology” to be too ambiguous
